After choosing the type of music you want for your event, you have to find someone who can play it. Basically, you have two choices when it comes to providing music accompaniment for your event:
1. Hiring a DJ or boom box operator
2. Hiring live musicians
DJs can be less expensive than a full band, but remember that there are many “starving artists” in Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina, so finding a good, inexpensive band may not be that difficult. Live music is almost always more fun, since musicians can play off the crowd and respond with lots of fresh energy to get the party rolling. Conversely, a band rarely has an unlimited repertoire.
