Hendersonville Tents Is a Family Business
Steven Bishop’s grandfather built his first tent for a revival he hosted in 1977. Soon, others started asking him for tents of their own, and he realized he’d discovered a niche market. By 1984, the company incorporated as Hendersonville Tents.
The entire family participated in the business. Little Steven could supervise a tent-raising by the time he was 5 years old. Steven’s father took over the company in 2001, and he handed over the reins to Steven and his wife Stacy in 2013.

The family prides itself in the exceptional service they provide. Stacy is the voice of the company, cheerfully greeting callers. She’ll walk you through the decision process so that you order just what you need for your special occasion. In addition, they have developed relationships with other vendors typically needed to put on a grand affair — such as caterers, florists and decorators — so they can make practical and appropriate recommendations.

Through the years, the Bishop family can count many memorable events in their long history. Steven’s father met Jack Lemmon while setting tents for the movie set of My Fellow Americans, and Steven himself met Sandra Bullock in a tent on the set of 28 Days.
